Otto Mobile 1/18 Citroën Xsara Kit Car 1998

After ending its Rally-Raid program, Citroën decided to return to rally racing. A “Kitcar” was developed based on the Xsara for this return. The category (equivalent to today’s Rally2) represents the second tier of the sport. But it serves as an excellent stepping stone to the WRC, which is precisely what Citroën Racing is aiming for. Furthermore, the Kitcars delivered excellent performance and, as two-wheel-drive vehicles, were capable of competing for victory in many rallies. In fact, Bugalski managed to win two rounds of the World Championship ahead of the official World Rally Cars—in 1999, in Catalonia and then in Corsica. This proves the capabilities of the Xsara Kitcar, a car designed for many private drivers. During testing (whether private or not), the Xsara Kitcar sports a white “factory-standard” livery that invites customization.
