In 1977, the US military issued a request for the design of a military vehicle capable of transporting men and equipment around the globe. The Italian firm responded with the Cheetah concept car. Lamborghini ended up losing the contract but chose to use this base to make a civilian version. With its all-wheel drive, its extraordinary look, its 5.2-liter V12 engine powered by its 6 dual-body carburetors, the LM002 is unlike anything else on the market. It would quickly hit the limelight, starting with Sylvester Stallone, who loved cruising at the wheel of this 2.7-ton machine on Hollywood Boulevard.
