The M3 E36 that came out in 1992 marked a profound evolution compared to the previous E30 version. The design was completely revised and the mechanical side was utterly new. The M3 went from 4 to 6 cylinders, reaching 286 horsepower. In 1996, the 3.2L reached 321 horsepower and the gearbox got an upgrade to 6 gears. This particular iteration remains for many car lovers “The M3” even to this day.
