For a long time, at Audi, the same catchphrase has stayed strong: "Vorsprung durch Technik" ("Advancement through technology"). The second generation Audi 80 retained this mantra: a family sedan offering advanced technology. During this decade, at Audi, the technological revolution was the Quattro system. Popularized thanks to rallying, this all-wheel drive system was offered on the new 80. A major argument at the time which made us forget the sometimes slightly meagre equipment of the Audi 80. Indeed, everything that was luxurious and relating to power was reserved for the premium version of the 80: the Audi 90. However, the 80 established itself and became a benchmark in its sector.
