BMW never intended to make an official convertible version of the famous E30. As with the BMW E21, the project was assigned to a local carrossier named Baur. And so the E30 TC2 Baur was born! This convertible is very special in that it retains the door frames and a roof bar acting as a “roll bar”. The name TC stands for “Top Cabrio”. The model was a great success, and in eight years of production, over 15,000 units left the Baur workshops - the German bodybuilder's greatest achievement! Legend says that an M3-based model exists...
