In the 80's and 90's, the French Supertouring Championship attracted many manufacturers and drivers. In 1987, Renault decided to enter this category and selected the R21 from its catalog as basis. The R21 Super Production was born and started racing in March 1988. The results fall immediately with a first podium for its first outing. At the end of the season 1988, Jean Ragnotti gets the title of champion of France of the discipline and allows the Renault 21 Super Production to enter all the memories. Here in version of "presentation", its look already gives an impression of brutality.
