The Safari Rally is the fourth round of the 1985 World Rally Championship (WRC). Peugeot dominates the early season with its beastly 205 T16. Three wins in three rallies, one for Timo Salonen and two for Ari Vatanen. The Audis and Lancias were spectators to Peugeot's domination. But for the Lioness' first Safari, things are more complicated: Bruno Saby had an accident and Ari Vatanen was forced to retire after a mechanical failure. Thankfully, Timo Salonen was able to take 5th place, the 205 T16's best Safari result ever! The event was won by Juha Kankkunen, who became a Peugeot driver the following season.
