Skoda's first Octavia dates back to the 1950s. It was so called as it was the Czech brand's eighth model following its nationalization in the post-World War II era. The Octavia disappeared for several decades before being reborn in the 1990s on the Golf IV chassis. Now owned by Volkswagen, the Czech brand became more popular at the dawn of the 21st century, thanks in particular to the Octavia. The second generation was launched in 2004. Like its bigger sibling, it also comes in a sports version. Named RS, it features Volkswagen's TFSI, boosted to 200hp! A real “German killer”!
